Difficulties in Dallas

The Dallas Observer recently ran this fascinating story about the difficulties city residents have faced in their efforts to begin a community garden.

Seems to me like there's a lot more going on here that we'll find out about later. Make sure you read the comments after the article too.

That's a really great story. I live in Ft. Worth, and I don't think you could pay me enough to live in Dallas, just because of City Hall and their actions. I do a lot of organic gardening in my backyard, and would love to start a community garden at the church I work for. Maybe I'll bring this up. Great site by the way!

Hi, I am not sure this is the right place to ask a question but this is my first time in a blog and I gather you would not mind. I have just moved to Frisco and I would like to start an organic garden that would include a couple of miniature chickens...do you know anything about the regulations in that respect? or could you guide me to whom to ask around here? Thank you!!!!

Hi! I live in Duncanville and found regulations for animals on the city website. My neighbors keep chickens, and some people a few blocks away have an extra lot and raise pygmy goats.
