Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day

GBBD was yesterday, but I wanted to join in anyhow.

The daffodil and saucer magnolia blooms have already peaked, so I won't embarass myself with pics of their sad appearance; however, other plants - like the ranunculus asiaticus, Spanish lavender and euphorbia shown above - are just gettin' started.

Oh, and the dandelions are of course flowering like crazy. My tortoise can't eat all the ones I pluck and bring in to him.

Hi Tamara,

I was so excited to find your blog! I also live in Plano and am 45. I just put in an organic veg garden and don't know anyone else in Plano with my interests. I am sure there is a meet up or something? Couldja hook me up?

I am lucky to work out of my home near Parker and Alma so I can go plant stuff in between seeing clients. celestehackett@yahoo.com

Hi Tamara,

That Euphorbia is other-worldly looking! Do your ranunculus come back each spring or do they act like annuals? I planted a few last fall and the buds are starting to open.

I didn't know tortoises ate dandelions. Perhaps he can polish off the ones in my yard but that's Maine. This year I'm in England with no garden responsibilities. I'm sure I'll come home to a weed garden.

That's so cool you have a tortoise to eat your dandelions. Perhaps if I had one I wouldn't get so mad at them in my yard - I'd just think oh good! More turtle food!

Dandelions are a flower that grows pretty much everywhere, doesn't it? It is nice that the tortoise is willing to eat it!

Thanks for joining in for bloom day!
